Save the date! Two courses on high-performance computing are scheduled for October 17. The morning session is designed for those with no knowledge of the subject, while the afternoon session is for users with some experience.
The contract for the acquisition of JUPITER was signed last Tuesday, October 3, between EuroHPC JU and the German company ParTec and the French company Eviden. Europe’s first exascale supercomputer will be installed in early 2024 and features an innovative configuration!

We have left Benasque! The five days of IBERGRID 23 have come to an end. The Pedro Pascual Science Center hosted the 12th edition of the conference that unites Portugal and Spain in the coordination of scientific applications, distributed computing infrastructures, cloud computing and data repositories.
From Monday to Friday, the town of Benasque, in Spain, will host the participants of IBERGRID 2023.
The Portuguese Prime Minister, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the executive director of EuroHPC JU were at the University of Minho on September 6 for the inauguration of the new Portuguese supercomputer – the fastest ever.
September brings the first MOOC on Supercomputing in Portuguese, developed as part of the EuroCC project. It will be available on the “NAU – sempre a aprender” platform and will be free of charge. There’s already a short presentation video to introduce the course!
The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking virtual event is scheduled for September 26 (Tuesday). It will last three hours, starting in the morning and ending at lunchtime.
The third edition will leave Lisbon and head to the north of Portugal, between November 7th and 8th. There will be more news soon, but it’s worth booking those days in your calendar now!
