5th Edition of the Advanced Computing Project Call

The new dates for the call offering computing resources to support innovative national scientific projects are now available.

The FCCN, the digital services unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), has launched the 5th Edition of the Advanced Computing Project Call (CPCA). This call aims to provide computing resources for innovative scientific projects in various fields, promoting research in Portugal.

The call offers four types of access, depending on the teams’ experience and project requirements:

  • A0 – Experimental Access: for teams with no prior experience in advanced computing, focused on testing and experimentation.
  • A1 – Development Access: for software optimization and small-scale projects.
  • A2 – Regular Access: for projects with prior experience, using HPC, AI, and Cloud.
  • A3 – Large Scale Access: for large projects requiring significant HPC and AI resources.

Applications for A0 and A1 access can be submitted until September 2025. For A2 and A3 access, there will be two phases: one running until October 10, 2024, and another in 2025.
