International HPC Summer School 2025 in Portugal: A Unique Opportunity for Computational Science Scholars

Portugal hosts the 15th International HPC Summer School, empowering scholars in advanced computing from July 6-11, 2025.

For the first time, Portugal will host the prestigious International HPC Summer School, bringing together top scholars and experts in advanced computing from July 6 to 11, 2025, in Lisbon. This milestone event, organized by FCT through FCCN, invites graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from Australia, Canada, Europe, the USA, and Japan to explore the forefront of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Big Data Analytics.

Participants will gain invaluable insights into the challenges and solutions of computational science, learning from leading global experts. The program includes hands-on training in areas such as GPU programming, shared-memory programming, big data analytics, deep learning, and performance optimization on modern CPUs and GPUs. Advanced mentoring, networking opportunities, and exposure to international HPC infrastructures will equip attendees with the skills to accelerate their research and career paths.

The summer school is sponsored by renowned institutions, including the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (via the HPC SPECTRA project), Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, RIKEN Center for Computational Science, and leading universities in the USA. Eligible candidates from EU Member States, EuroHPC Participating States, and partner countries are encouraged to apply.

Registrations are open until January 31, 2025, with all details available on the event’s official website. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the future of computational science and join a global network of HPC leaders.
