FCT, in partnership with PLANAPP and ANI, has launched a joint initiative to develop the National Strategy for Emerging Technologies. The aim is to set strategic priorities and guide national investment in fields such as biotechnology, advanced materials and quantum technologies.
Until the end of October, researchers, experts and stakeholders from the scientific, technological and business communities are invited to express their interest and submit contributions through an online form.
The strategy was officially presented during the Ciência 2025 event, in sessions dedicated to Portugal’s emerging priorities, with the participation of several key figures. Among them was FCCN’s General Coordinator, João Nuno Ferreira, who emphasised the importance of an inclusive and collaborative approach to shaping the country’s innovation and technology agenda.
This open and participatory process aims to engage the broader R&D ecosystem in the development of a long-term vision for scientific, economic and societal impact.
