August brings virtual training workshop on Frontier supercomputer

The Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility is hosting a virtual event for new and potential users interested in learning how to work with the world’s fastest supercomputer. It is scheduled to run from August 23-25.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is home to the world’s fastest supercomputer and the only one so far in the exascale category, according to the latest update of the TOP 500 list.

For all new and potential users interested in learning how to work with Frontier, the Oak Ridge Computing Facility (OLCF) – the user facility run by ONRL – is hosting a virtual workshop from August 23-25, which will feature presentations and demonstrations.

In addition to information about the system (hardware, job launcher and programming methods, among others) the event will also feature a hands-on session for participants to learn how to perform jobs in Frontier.

The agenda is still being finalized, but there is already an outline of what to expect during the three-day workshop.
