EuroCC launches course on Europe’s fastest supercomputer

For February next year, the EuroCC project is organizing a course on LUMI. Everyone interested in learning more about the machine is invited to participate.

LUMI, the fastest supercomputer in Europe and the third fastest in the world – according to the latest TOP500 list – will be at the center of the course, which will be held in a hybrid format. For those who can attend in person, it is being organized at IT4Innovations (Czech Republic), but is also being made possible via online.

Throughout the morning (until 3pm) of February 14, 2023, participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the architecture and key parameters of LUMI, as well as use GPU accelerated partition for Artificial Intelligence applications.

There will also be sessions dedicated to learning how to access the supercomputer’s resources and how to perform tasks, but for now it is reserved for participants from the Czech community only.

The course will be guided by Mgr. Branislav Jansík, director of supercomputing services at IT4Innovations, Jan Vicherek, member of the LUMI support team, and Georg Zitzlsberger, researcher and trainer at the Advanced Data Analysis and Simulations Lab.
