EuroCC Portugal will be running two courses – both online – on October 17. The morning course is aimed at those with no experience in high-performance computing, while the afternoon course is aimed at those with some experience. Here are the details of each one.
Introduction to high performance computing
Date/Time: October 17, from 9am to 11am
Speakers: João Conceição and João Pina (both from LIP)
Description: This is a course intended for users who have no knowledge on high performance computing. This training does not require software installation.
Learning topics:
- Submitting simple CPU and GPU jobs
- Basic archive steps: copy, archive, transfer
- Submitting simple MPI jobs (multi CPU on multiple nodes)
- Using udocker to submit jobs on the high-performance computing systems

Advanced job submission in high-performance computing
Date/Time: October 17th, from 2pm to 4pm
Speakers: João Conceição and João Pina (both from LIP)
Description: This is an advanced course aimed at users who already have some basic knowledge of how to submit jobs to the HPC cluster.
