EuroHPC JU launches new Call to Support HPC-powered Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications

The High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) aims to help European AI users take full advantage of the innovation potential of supercomputers for advanced AI applications by creating a new Support Centre.

Applications are now open for the creation of an European AI Support Centre (AISC) that will gather and provide expertise in advanced AI technologies and provide high-performance computing (HPC)-based services to developers and users of large-scale AI models. The aim is to help European AI communities improve their workflows by leveraging more advanced HPC resources to develop complex models with a significant impact across Europe, including base models for generative AI.

The Centre will build on existing support services provided, for example, by the pan-European network of EuroHPC National Competence Centres (NCCs). In the domain of advanced HPC-based AI technology, the AISC aims to significantly improve the portfolio of services currently available to researchers and businesses in Europe.

Applications for DIGITAL-EUROHPC-JU-2023-AISC-03 will be open until February 27, 2024, and the selected projects mare expected to start in September of the same year for a duration of 36 months.
