On 5 September, the Jupiter supercomputer was officially inaugurated in Jülich, Germany. As the first European Exascale-class system, Jupiter is capable of performing over one quintillion operations per second. It currently ranks 4th on the global TOP500 list and is the top-ranked system in Europe.

Its Booster partition is considered the most powerful worldwide, and the most energy-efficient among the global top five.

Jupiter was developed under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking with funding from the EU, the German federal government, and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In Portugal, EuroCC Portugal supports national teams in applying for access to this world-class infrastructure through public calls available via the EuroHPC JU portal.
