NCC Portugal participated in the 18th RES Users Conference, held in Málaga on September 17-19, 2024. This annual event, organized by the Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES) and EuroCC Spain, brought together users, technicians, and experts in high-performance computing (HPC) to discuss key topics in the European HPC ecosystem.
Representing NCC Portugal, Elana Araújo, manager of HPC science processes at FCCN, joined colleagues from NCC Cyprus and NCC Spain. The discussions focused on finding better ways to engage with industry, improving training, and exploring future collaborations between National Competence Centers (NCCs).
This year’s conference covered exciting topics, including digital twins, artificial intelligence, RISC-V chip development, and advancements in HPC algorithms and software. It provided valuable insights into the latest developments in the Spanish HPC network and access to European HPC resources.
