The algorithms that currently serve supercomputing are getting closer to being outdated as more and more powerful systems – such as exascale – arrive. Therefore, it is important to develop innovative codes that can keep up with these advances.
It is in this line of thought that the Inno4scale program arises, whose mission is to boost the development of innovative algorithms for future exascale supercomputers of EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, so that the potential of these machines is well exploited and used by Europe.
Inno4scale has launched a call for proposals to find and fund several studies with clearly identified potential, which will be submitted to proof of concept. Applications are open until September 28.
The most successful algorithms will then be adopted by HPC users in academia and industry, among others.
This project has been running since July and will continue for the next 21 months. It is coordinated by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, in partnership with the High-performance Computing Center of the University of Stuttgart (HLRS), PRACE and SCAPOS. The overall budget is more than four million euros.
More detailed information about the project and its call for proposals can be found on Inno4scale website.
